Anand Mahindra Wants SII To Create A ‘Victory Vaccine’ Made From Ben Stokes, The Internet Approves

2 min read

Anand Mahindra has not held back in his praise for England batsman Ben Stokes since the team’s victory against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday. In fact, the Mahindra Group chairman jokingly requested that Serum Institute of India (SII), a manufacturer of vaccines, create a ‘victory vaccine’ by drawing blood from the cricketer’s veins in a tweet that quickly went viral. Not only that, but he was also ready to sign up for the first dose of the vaccine.

Thousands of cricket fans agreed with Anand Mahindra’s appreciation after Ben Stokes led England to victory in a thrilling final on Sunday in Melbourne by maintaining his composure. In the post-game presentation, Stokes had said, “Pretty good evening. Representing your country in World Cups is amazing. It has been a good one.” Not only Mr. Mahindra, but others, have complimented Stokes. Jos Buttler, the captain of England, described him as “an ultimate competitor in everything he does” at the post-match presentation ceremony.

In the T20 World Cup final, Pakistan scored 137 runs in 20 overs. The two captains of their team, Babar Azam (32) and Shan Masood (38) scored the most runs. The top bowler for England in the final was Sam Curran (3/12). A few significant wickets were also taken by pacer Chris Jordan (2/27) and spinner Adil Rashid (2/22). England was dropped to 45/3 in 5.3 overs while chasing 138. However, a 48-run stand between Moeen Ali (19 runs in 13 balls) and Ben Stokes (52 not out in 49 balls with the help of five fours and a six) turned the tide of the match in England’s favour.
